Training within Guiding is provided for all
adult members, who are referred to as Guiders. Guiders agree to participate in the
Leadership Development Program, which consists
of three stages.
Program delivery and leadership skills are the main focus of training, and learning
takes place in an atmosphere of fun and sharing through the use of discussion and
hands on activities.
All adult members are screened by the organization. Potential applicants are interviewed,
and must provide references and proof of a criminal record search. Successful applicants,
then receive an orientation appropriate to their position and opportunities are
provided for training.
Training Committee Roles
- coordinates training throughout the province
- plans and holds training sessions for adult members in various positions and at
various levels
- provides orientation, assists in the development of, and evaluates Girl Guide
Trainers
